RePurposed old iPhone battery drain.

I have an iPhone 6s, a repurposed 5s and 4s, 3 iPads and formerly owned 2 iPod Touches.

I have, as far as I can tell, EVERYTHING off in the old iPhones, yet the batteries drain in less than a week even if untouched. The iPads etc do not. They hold their charge, sometimes very little drain.

Why do the old iphones drain to zero if all is off, cellular off, airplane mode engaged etc? I thought recently maybe pulling the SIM cards might do the trick but no. They still drain with no SIM.

Anyone know the secret? I figure there HAS to be a way since the iPads etc hold the battery levels.

You could shut off iPhones --- not leave on standby. Power on when you will use them.

Or, an old battery may simply be exhausted. They don't last forever. Replace battery in one iPhone, see if it makes a difference in battery drain.

iPads have bigger batteries than iPhones do and in the vast majority of cases, i would guess, the batteries haven't been through as many cycles as iPhone batteries.

My iPhone 6 battery went bad after 2 years of daily use. I don't know how much standby time it would have been able to maintain as I replaced it and I'm still using it.

Well,be glad it's an iPhone 6. The worst iPhones when it comes to battery issues was the iPhone 5,some of those was built with a crappy battery from a battery manufacturer that later admitted quality problems. I had one of those "lemons",and I went bananas more than once when the phone died in the middle of something.
After sending it to Apple for a free warranty replacement of the battery,it got at least a little better,but it still was a battery eater.
