Request for advice on a monitor for the new Pro

I recently sold my imac in anticipation of getting the new Pro, which looks awesome. I need it for graphics and film work.

What is your advice on getting a monitor for the new Pro? Obviously need something as sharp as the Apple monitors. But I thought I could buy it in advance and use it with my Macbook while waiting for the Pro to ship.

Any experience or advice about Sony or other monitors for film editing? Should I wait for the Thunderbolt 2 to be incorporated into monitor technology. Or 4K?

Yeah I got that too. Dual cards, new OS with serious support for multi-display systems was a highlight. I really doubt they're doing all that and not grabbing an enhanced display market too. Apple is very display-centric, so my guess is they'll have an impressive offering for that market too.
