Latest Solution For HOWARD STERN ON iPhone:
(Free, with Sirius XM internet subscription or Free Trial)

STEP 1. Jailbreak your iPhone:
- read abour jailbreaking iPhone --OPTIONAL--: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jailbreak_(iPhone)
- backup your contacts with gmail--OPTIONAL--: http://www.google.com/mobile/apple/sync.html
- download tools for jailbreaking and firmware here: http://www.quickpwn.com/downloads

(now you should have your iPhone jailbreaked with an app called Cydia app on it)

STEP 2. Update Cydia
- Open Cydia and do the last updates
- In Cydia go to SEARCH and install the following:
* backgrounder (so you can run applications in the background)
* dTunes (so you can download any song for free) --OPTIONAL--
* Safari Download Plug-in (suportes download of various files)
* OpenSSH (allows you to FTP access your iphone with WinSCP available here: http://winscp.net/eng/download.php ) --OPTIONAL--
* Tricker TreeG (allows you to use SlingBox, Skype and Fring over 3G)
- In Cydia go MANAGE --> SOURCES --> EDIT --> ADD and type: http://cydia.hackulo.us/
- In Cydia go MANAGE --> SOURCES --> HACKULO.US and install the following:
* miPatch (so you can install cracked ipa's using itunes)
* installous (so you can access and install cracked apps directly from your iphone)
* Hackulous Security (for protection)

STEP 3: Install Pocket Tunes 5.2.1 or up for FREE:
- start Installous app on your iPhone
- click Search and type POCKET TUNES
- click on Pocket Tunes Radio and scroll down to Download section
- select Version 5.2.1 or better (5.2.0 or less won't work with Sirius XM)
- click one of the links, type the webcode he ask you for and INSTALL

STEP 4: Start Pocket Tunes app and listen to Howard Stern channel 100 and channel 101
When Pocket Tunes ask you for the password, remember to type it as you got it in your email. CASE SENSITIVE!!!

SUCCESS!

Now you should be able to start the free Pocket Tunes (usually $9.99), select Sirius at the groups section and listen to Howard Stern. Pocket Tunes will ask you for the password (CASE SENSITIVE!) only first time, the password will be saved for later access. The 7 day trial password will work as well, sign up for trial here: http://www.siriusxm.com/oniphone/indexd.xmc
The app backgrounder you installed earlier will allow you to minimize Pocket Tunes and listen in the background like you would do with the iPod app.
In case nybody needs to use WinSCP mentioned above the login info is: login "root" with password "alpine" or login "mobile" with password "dottie".
Assuming you already installed miPatch mentioned above, please finf Pocket Tunes ipa 5.2.1 attached to this post or at: http://hackulo.us (rename .zip extension to .ipa, drag the file to iTunes and syncronize) (Pocket Tunes part 1 and part 2 attached are rar not zip, so rename them)
By following the steps above you will also be able to use Skype and Slingplayer over AT&T 3G network.

Use the AT& T 3G network at maximum, that's why you pay for it. Skype unlimited US and Canada will cost you $3/month.

--using an jailbreaked iPhone 2.2.1 firmware--

"On June 18th 2009 Apple and AT&T decided to allow Sirius XM app broadcast over 3G, ONLY without Howard Stern. The reason would be Millions of listeners that would flood the AT&T 3G network.
Without Howard Stern channels 100 and 101, there will be very few interested using Sirius XM Iphone app. Apple and AT&T wants to sell you expensive 3G internet connection but to limit you as much as possibile to use it properly, like streaming a radio show, Skype or TV digital signal."

-----June 19th 2009-----------
On June 18th 2009 finally was released on the iphone APP STORE the application "Sirius XM"
The application is free to use but unfortunately lacks Howard Stern channels, fact that makes the application worthless for 90% of Sirius XM subscribers.
I'm opening this topic in hopes that a programmer will be smart enough to be able to decode the app and add Howard Stern channels to it.
Would be fantastic if the programmer could rename the app to "Howard Stern" and post it on any Cydia repository.
In this way there will be aproximately 6 million unique iphone users for this app.
The creator could post adds in the app and make revenue.

I hope this post will find the right person.

Cheers for Howard Stern Iphone app :)

in the zip file attached to this post:
This is the application as I downloaded directly from the iphone from the following folder:
/private/var/mobile/Applications/195Bc50c- .....
using WinSCP windows program.

Good Luck

Try to google and you will find no thread....

Misleading thread title.

Try to google and you will find no thread with people actually getting together in order to find a solution to this problem in adding the 100 and 101 channels to this app. You will find only people complaining. It's time to have one thread where we can stay updated and work on this.
I'm currently in contact with some good programmers and they will take a lok at this issue. It is just a matter of time until Howard Stern will be available on iPhone within a modded Sirius XM app.

Just use orb or pocket tunes. What you are trying to do already exists with those apps. You don't need the channel
logo or artist name and song anyway with 100 & 101 anyway.

ORB - you need to have a separate computer to broadcast continuously. Ridiculous.
Pocket Tunes - It is working ver. 5.2.1 and up

AND ... both options cost money. People already pay for satelite subscription. The application should be FREE as it currently Sirius XM app is.
Just it needs to be cracked and Stern made available. That's all.

Pocket Tunes works great for me. Never had a single issue with it. worth the money to hear howard everywhere

Pocket Tunes version 5.2.2 and up is working. CONFIRMED
I had version 5.2.1 - not working
However $9.99 for Pocket Tunes app is not worth it. Like I said, the point is to modify the free app.
Must be free as we already pay for subscription.
Free Howard Stern Show on iPhone.

Pocket Tunes Radio works fine and it *is* worth the $9.99. Keep in mind that PTR isn't just for SiriusXM.

SiriusXM *must* update their app to include Howard Stern. I know that their Customer Service was flooded with calls about this (I called to complain, too). I also sent emails to the Stern Show, and I know I'm not the only one who did that either. Let's see what Stern says tomorrow.

As for hacking the app...good luck with that.

Oh...and the title of this thread is definitely misleading.

All Stern has to do is give Sirius-XM permission to broadcast his show via the app. I find it funny that people are trying to hack the app to listen to someone who does not care about his listeners anyway.

Howard addressed the issue on todays show. It's a licensing issue. He said he hoped it could be sorted out so one day his channels would be included.

Is anyone having trouble with the pocket tunes app (v5.2.1)? I can't get the sirius player to work. I'm on 3G 3.0.

You can't tell me that 90% of Sirius subscribers get it to listen to some guy ramble and talk...

Pahooey, F* Howard stern, and turn on some good music for once, the real reason you got Satellite Radio...not to listen to some stupid guy talk. I don't care how famous he is.

80% of 20 million subscribers tune for Howard. Fact, tracking subscribers count on satelite.
His 4 hours show repeats non stop on channel 100. Stern is a phenomenon. Every day he is influencing the top searches on Google Trans.
All this makes you a moron.

No, It makes you a moron to worship some celebrity who obviously does not care about his listeners...so far enough that you would break your agreement, and risk your service by hacking on an application...and stealing from the developer of PocketTunes. Makes us jailbreakers look bad, because I do not jailbreak to pirate applications. Funny how you are a new person, you come here and post instructions on how to steal other people's work, and advocating that the person steal the work, and place ads in it for revenue.

Something tells me that this thread won't last.

Celebrity worshippers are worse than Apple fanboys.

Howard Stern is my clown. He entertains me. He is funny and I love the guy, but if he jumps the shark by not making himself available on iPhone, f him, you and the developer of Pocket Tunes. However, I manyain my opinion and I say At&t is at fault. They don't want too much streaming over their 3G network. Howard will burn their wires.

You are talking like he is your best friend, but then you dump him when he is not making himself available on your iPhone. Pick one.

Also, pay the $9.99- $10 isn't going to kill you to get to listen to "your best friend"
