I was setting up my SLR camera with a Blackrapid.com R-straps and had an idea for apple to add a tripod socket to the iPad design for attaching a fastener for an option for a shoulder strap for carrying iPad/iSlate.

see videos here:

What do you guys think?
(hmmm....also some enterprising case maker can make a case with this option)
Cheers, Behrooz

I'm not really certain how beneficial that would be for the iPad. I also doubt Apple is going to begin drilling holes in its perfect body so people can carry it around like a camera. If I had a camera, that would be a nice product to have though.

So you mean something like this?

Click on shoulder strap. :)

How about this?

I am curious why you chose to add "iSlate" after iPad.

I was thinking the same thing. "iSlate?" Let it go. ;)

Anyway, those blackrapid.com videos don't work on me iPad. :(

I think accessory manufacturers have yet to scratch the surface as far as iPad transport goes. I really want to buy a case, but nothing currently available truly appeals to me. Everyone is simply oversizing iPhone cases and pouches, much as many app developers are merely oversizing their apps. What's required are new solutions to new problems, not just cushioning or screen protection.

The iPad is portable enough lol. 1.5 pounds makes it extremely portable.
Also, why are you calling it iSlate?

SLR cameras are also extremely portable too, and I keep it in its carrying case until it goes into use. or some times you need to carry a tray of food or something else along with the ipad and need both hands free.

Also I find scottevest, and a backpack useful options.

Just hoping there is a more powerful ipad like iSlate in the future.

It is best not to make up product names and throw them out, and assume people should understand what you mean by them. You didn't even explain it when you were first asked.

If the iPad becomes more powerful, it might just be a more powerful iPad, or the iPad Pro. There is no MacBook, and then MacEncyclopedia, MacLibrary, MacFolio, MacArchive or whatever.

?!
I did try to explain my definition of iSlate in my 2nd post.

This should works too. Thanks for sharing!

@Elzlaik...Doesnt take too much imagination to assume iSlate is a natural evolution of iPad ..watching iPad's effect on Apple's stock.

I applaud your edit of the last post. ;) As far as imagination, I know there is a healthy supply of it on this board.

As far as portability, I wouldn't want my iPad to be hanging by a strap bumping into things, so I would put it in a case that has a strap.
