iPod Requesting help...

I have some songs from a cd in mp3, that I want to connect in a way that every song has no gap until the other starts. They are parts of a whole concert.

So, I want to produce 1 unified song that contains all those little ones. How can I do that? Note that the final file MUST be able to be heard from an iPod... And also note that the original cd is not available anymore (it broke).

I want to have as little loss in audio quality as possible... Files are mp3 VBR 192-213 kbps.

Can anyone help?

Have you tried importing each file into Garageband and 'stitching' them together? You should be able to export the whole track to iTunes. You'll also be able to edit out any gaps in the audio.

There's an easy way to do this in iTunes if you have the original CD. Barring that, I'd suggest manually stitching the tracks together using an editor app. Try Sound Studio. It's been a packaged app for several Macs, so you may have it already. There are others, though.

By the way, in the future you may want to pick a more descriptive subject than "help"

Since you don't have the CD anymore--make one in iTunes and then reimport joining the tracks together.

1) Burn the CD in iTunes with the tracks in order.
2) To remove the gap of silence that normally occurs between songs, make sure the songs on the CD are sorted by track number in ascending order (click the top of the first column so that it's blue and you see a triangle that points up), then select two or more adjacent songs and choose Advanced > Join CD Tracks.

iTunes imports any joined songs as one track. To change back to importing the songs separately, select the joined songs and choose Advanced > Unjoin CD Tracks.

Thanks! That may do it. What is the quality loss in this one? And do you know of any good way of deleting those annoying little gaps between each song? I tried it your way but there are some very little pauses between each song...

How can I get rid of them?

Can you not open the tracks in Quicktime instead and then copy and paste them together, save them as a new track and then convert them to AAC or MP3 in iTunes?
