macOS Requirements for 'make'?

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to compile the source of an application I found - they have support for mac os. Now i type ./configure - all goes well. need to type make for the next step - and of course, the command now found. What do I need to install to compile programs like this?

Downloading and installing Xcode development tools will install everything you need to do compilation and development on Mac OS X, including make, gcc and lots of other things.

I figured as much - installing it right now off my DVDs..
