I'll make sure I get it right when the new iPhone is released. Thanks!

I landed my wife with a Nokia. Just sayin'. Oh, it was a Pay as you go phone.

It was this bad boy:

I'm taken ladies.

Heh, that's ok....

I got an iPhone and then met a woman, but all she did was talk down about my iPhone - preferring her Blackberry Pearl. "It's stupid having a phone with no real keypad.... makes texting too difficult." "It costs too much and you're stuck with AT&T for service!" "It's too big and breaks too easily if you drop it, and it lands on the glass front part!"

Well, since then, we broke up and I met a new woman and she already *has* an iPhone, plus she used to work at the Apple Store. My ex-g/f? She has an iPhone now... go figure!

Damn. I had a girlfriend when I got my iPhone and I'm still stuck with the same one. I must be doing it all wrong.

I gotta ask. Is that your wife in the avatar?

Yep. She's a kindergarten teacher. We were about to take a paddleboat tour in New Orleans. Hence the background.

I'm probably the only one around here who uses his real name, with a real picture as an avatar.

I believe in taking responsibility for what you write, and doing decent research before posting.

So I've been posting online under my own name for over thirty years.

The good old BS, non-scientific, sensationalist poll about sex, done to garner media attention and get copy-and-pasted onto blogs and forums. It's never been easier for PR companies.

Well, you did well with the wife. Quite pretty. Perhaps you had one of the first cell phones when you met (in keeping with the spirit of this thread). :)

I'll be willing to use my name and pic, as well, once I'm retired and out of government.

Thanks! After I show her your nice post, I suspect that you'll be her new best friend :)

Well, girls do like guys who know how to use and fix gizmos. ;) I often accuse her of marrying me as her personal fix-it man.

The irony is that I've been a touchscreen developer for almost two decades, and she dislikes touchscreen phones. She's one of the many people who prefer dedicated buttons. All she wants is a phone with a big display, keypad and four hardware buttons labelled Contacts, Weather, Family Photos and Messages. She could care less about other apps, and she doesn't want to have to look at it to use it.

I'd love to be able to actually see everyone who posts here.

And yet most women later complain that their boyfriend is spending too much time on his iPhone.

So they might date you, but they don't want to keep ya :p

Yeup that about sums it up. Thing is she still wants to keep me.

Quote "According to the survey, which was held by Phones 4u, an online retailer of iPhones (and other phones) and thus utterly neutral any way you look at it, 54% of women stated that they would be more likely to date a man if he owns an iPhone."

I wouldn't be interested in a woman who was that shallow/superficial.
Good luck to anyone who would, you will need it.

I think you mean stupid. It's not like the iPhone is that expensive.

You can add stupid sure, but expensive or not has nothing to do with it really.
It's a shallow and superficial thing to base any kind of opinion on, regardless of that.

"just something about a man who’s good with computers that makes him more trustworthy"

It might just be me but I'd think the opposite (i'm a guy btw)
Its my friends who are the most tech savy that i'm weary of. More intelligence give a better ability to cover ones secrets
