reselling books from iPhoto

Does anyone know about the terms of use for books bought via iPhoto? Specifically, is it legal to resell them? I have a website hosting web journals for families traveling overseas to adopt children, and I would love to be able to offer an iphoto book with all of their pictures and some captions.

Any idea if this is legal?

I'm pretty sure that, as long as you're legally able to sell the images (or, perhaps, sell the books at no profit, which might make a difference), there's no legal implication of using books that came via iPhoto as opposed to getting them form any other source.

In other words, if it's legal to sell that photo book at all, it's legal to sell it from Apple.

I believe there is a way to remove the apple logo from the book too, I'm not quite sure how though. I'll look for the article and post it.

These would be pictures that the client took and sent to me to put on a website.

To rephrase my question is: would Apple have any legal reason to keep me from selling the books that they have made? Would it make a difference if I charged the client exactly what Apple charges me to make the book, plus a service fee for organizing it via iPhoto and sending it to Apple?

Can't say about Apple (actually Kodak through Apple). But as long as you have a legal copyright to the images in a photo book, you are free to do what you want with it.

You have to look at terms of use. "Labs" have no restrictions on what you do with the final product.

There are other photo book services that photographer friends of mine use and then resell (weddings, portraits, etc.) at a profit and there is no legal problem with that. My guess is that the Apple/Kodak books are the same. BTW, the books that my photo friends get cost around $600-800 USD to produce. They are beautiful though.
