Since iPads are out of stock everywhere in Dallas, I did a "reserve in store" at my local Apple store. Any experience with how long people have had to wait?

I just did the same thing here. Hopefully not too long.

For a 64GB I had to wait a whole 40 mins at the Florida Mall. I think this is the best way....

Reserved a 32GB at 3 pm and had the email by 11 am the very next day.

update: only took 3 days!
location - Frisco, TX

At Memorial City Mall (Houston) I reserved a 64GB last Thursday and got it today.

At First Colony Mall (Sugarland) I reserved a 64GB last Friday and got it today as well.

Reserved Friday night and got the email at11 on Sunday. The reservation was going to run out on Monday at 6pm

I may be missing the obvious but where on the apple site is the reserve in store link? I can't seem to find how to put my name on the list on the site...

I can't seem to see it either. Can you order store pick-up online or do you have to order in the store?

Have to do it in-store.

Yeah, it's a little thing you log into w/your iTunes account on one of the concierge/activation zone machines. It seems to be a pretty quick process but you do have to do it in-store.

Typically the volcano does its bit to stop me from going to the US (last Saturday), the ash starts to clear and it looks like flights *may* restart and now Apple runs out of iPads in store. Things are not going right for me!

Maybe I'll have time to order when (if) I get there.

Chris

Yes, this absolutely must be done in the store. Although I really don't know why. It takes all of 30 seconds if that. They just select the model type you want and you type in your .Mac ID and password.

My example:

I was in the Twin Cities (MN) for a meeting. When I called around Everyone was out. So I reserved a 32gig Friday late afternoon at the Southdale Apple store. They said, as well as the confirmation email, that they'd be contacting me "soon"

So nothing Saturday. I call about 3pm and they're "All Out". I finally leave on Sunday after calling again. Make the 4 hour drive home. Get to work on Monday. At 9am I get my "Your reserved 32 gig iPad is in waiting for you to pick up until 6 pm Tuesday"

I cancelled the reservation as I was not going to make the drive again.

I'll get my ordered iPad by the 27th...

By the way, the apple case if backordered like 3 weeks!

Reserved mine last Friday, got the confirmation that they had it waiting for me yesterday morning. I now own an iPad!! Three days seems to be norm for the reservations.

Hey after you guys reserved one I the store, did you get any confirmation email etc. ? Or did you just get the email notifying you when it arrived in the store?
