I plan on reserving a 64gb wifi ipad on the 12th, and I was wondering do you have to put any money down or just like your name and number?

If you do have to put any money down any guesses on how much?

I am assuming that you would have to pay for it in full on the website and then just pick it up at the Apple store. Best Buy and others do the same with their in store pick up.

I'm assuming this will be similar to the 3GS reservation, so no you won't pay anything and hopefully there will be on in stock when you get there.

I don't believe you will reserve online for store pickup. You can pre-order (buy) online and they usually charge your card about the time it ships. To reserve, I think you will go to your local Apple Store.

You'll most likely have to give your credit card info on the 12th , then on launch day they will charge your card and you can pickup at a retail store.

If you reserve for pick up do you know if you are guaranteed an iPad. Therefore you won't have to wait in too long of a line, I hope.

Again, if done like the 3GS, you'll reserve online with no guarantee, but you'll likely walk away with one provided you show.

The only hitch may be how many iPads will actually be available, and whether Apple will cut off reservations if things start to look tight. Otherwise, the iPad should benefit from everything Apple learned from 3 iPhone launches, plus we won't have to deal with ATT activation.

I read that you will be able to reserve the 3g IPad on the 12th even though it is coming out at the end of April. I want the 64gig 3g it is going to be so hard waiting after placing the order on the 12th:)

Anyone know the line situation for people who have a reserved iPad for pickup on launch day? Will there be a different line for those who reserved? Or will you still wait in the normal line, but just be guaranteed an iPad?

I heard that at my local Apple store people who had reserved their iPhone 3GS online were allowed to move to the front of the line. They paid for the iPhone at the time of purchase. This apparently upset some of the people who were in line before the reservers. The process may be the same for the iPad or completely different. We might not know until Friday. We might not know until April 3.

I pre-ordered my 3GS and FedEx delivered it to my door on launch day. No lines, no worry, no fuss.

correct. tho the line for the 3gs was 10 times smaller than the 3g. if you pre ordered you cut the whole line.

I hope this is the case for when I go up there on the 3rd with my pre-reserve reciept in hand waiving it in the air lol! I'm still going to get there bright and early. :)

There were no pre-orders for the 3G. You had to show up at the store to purchase. :)

So, maybe that will help with the iPad's line situation. Since people can do both pre-orders for delivery and reservations.

yah i know. that was probably one of the reasons why the line was 10 times smaller ;)

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/5.0.17405/958; U; en) Presto/2.4.15)

I really hope I don't have to wait in a huge line if I preorder. But hopefully they will have enough units and just check people out quickly.

Do u guys think the rumor about free gift was false? I haven't. Heard anything since.

What time did the apple stores open for iphone/ipod touch launches?
