Reserved a 16gb tonight, am I in for a long wait?

Hi everyone!

As the title says I reserved a 16gb tonight at my local apple store. The lady who helped me said they get "mail" everyday, so it's possible I might get an email tomorrow. Just wondering from those who've done the in-store reservation, realistically how long of a wait am I looking at?

I can't wait to get my hands on that ipad!

Guys, could you kind explain how the iPad reservation works? I am travelling to the US for a few days in late May and might reserve a 3G before I fly in the local Apple Store to make sure I get one...

call 1-800-MY-APPLE, order and have it for pick up at the store you'd like to pick it up at. They are slated to ship (or be available for pickup) may 7th.

or u could wait on a gigantic line on the 30th at 5pm and get one, im thinking on either reserving it, ordering it online or waiting on line at the apple store

We reserved 2 nights apart. I'm sure it's different for every store tho but we will see..


I thought I read somewhere that the apple stores get daily shipments of iPad's. You'd think it wouldn't take that long for us to get ours..

I actually just got the email about 20 minutes ago, on my way to go pick it up right now! I hope you get your email today too. From what I'm noticing people who reserved through the week are getting them on Saturday so maybe that's when they get their shipments in. Good luck!

All those thinking about reserving the 3G...

You cannot do this right now. Maybe sometime in the week they will allow it, but as of right now you cannot pre-order the 3G like you could with the wifi.
