For those of you deciding whether to order online or to put your name on the wait list.

I had an order that was scheduled to arrive on 18 Jun, but what the hell, I thought I'd try my luck at the local Apple store in Orange County, California. I talked to a store rep over the phone, gave her my e-mail address, played some MW2, and voila, I had my iPad reserved for me at the store - all in about 20 minutes.

Maybe I got lucky, but try putting your name on the list. I'm assuming that the stores DO get some priority since they represent the company itself.

Loving the new iPad.

That's what I did. Put my name on the priority list and the next morning I had an email saying it was ready to pick up. I was amazed. This was just last week too.
