i would like to Reset All cuz i am weird like that and feel like doing it every once in a while. in the past it would also forget all my wifi passwords which is weird cuz i always assumed those are actually saved in the keychain. so is there any way to reset all without losing the wifi passwords? i tried disabling the keychain before resetting all but that didnt work either.

well thats mac..resetting all settings is resetting all settings, wifi passwords being saved is considered a setting & if resetting settings didnt erase them, someone would probably scream "security flaw". having them saved in keychain for ios too is surely a good idea, but the design of resetting all settings (or network settings) removing them doesnt seem like a flaw

It's an interesting issue. I was recently away from home and had to reset settings on my iPhone. Due to iCloud, that had the effect of knocking all my iOS devices at home off the WiFi since the WiFi password was deleted from them as well. My wife at home was like wtf.

Are you sure about this? How would resetting settings on one device reset them on another? No way that can happen. Resetting settings on an iDevice does not change your wifi password (on your router) so cant affect another device. Something missing here. I have reset all a lot and never had that happen.

It does not change wifi password on router. Just deletes wifi passwords on device also that is connected to your home or wherever place is with same cloud id. For example an ipad that is sitting at home will lose all passwords when u reset settings or icloud keychain from your iphone at work.

Be sure iCloud Keychain is enabled and that you index had the network and its password saved to it. Log out of iCloud before resetting the iOS device. Do the reset. Login to iCloud, enable all things needed. And it should get it.
If it doesn't just keep another Apple device handy with your passwords and manually enter it.
