.Mac/homepage/iDisk seems to think that the page I want as my homepage is a page that I deleted as it was just a test page. Whenever I upload something else I only get to the original page which has been deleted.

I've cleared my cache and tried different browsers, same thing.

Is there a way of resetting iDisk or homepage?

Go onto www.mac.com, and check your homepage listings which should be on the left hand side of the main page. If the page you deleted is still there, delete it. Then make sure that everything that had to do with that page is gone from your iDisk after the next sync. Stuff for the page would be in the Sites and possibly Photo folders.

If the stuff sticks around, it takes a little finaggling to get rid of it on your own, otherwise you could probably ask the .mac people for some help.

thanks for the reply

I've deleted it all out of sites, photos etc. It's not on the homepage sidebar, it's nowhere visible to me. Yet it's still there when I go to my homepage url.

Yeah, this probably will get annoying. Try uploading a new album and see if it replaces the old one. You could also try making a manual index.html file and putting it in the Sites folder and then doing a manual sync (hitting the circle next to your iDisk). This was a real pain for me at one point, I think I waited a few days and had some automatic syncs keep asking which index.html file I wanted, but it just didn't sync the one I wanted, so my homepage was the wrong one for a week. I finally deleted everything from the site folder on my iDisk and synced it a few times, then threw my homepage bacck in and did a few more syncs, then I think it worked. But I'm not sure if it really worked due to me doing what I did. I think .Mac has a slight bug, so I would alert them and see if someone there can just go and delete the file for you.

thanks very much

you headed me in the right direction. I did some digging and found out my ISP uses a proxy server that had cached the site and wouldn't update it. Tinkered with some proxy settings and fixed.

Thanks very much!
