Purplera1n is not compatible if you updated to the 3.0.1 software. Redsn0w will work fine if you choose the 3.0 firmware when you jailbreak. Ultrasn0w is for unlocking.

Thnx for the quick reply, I updated to 3.0.1 so I guess I'm good to go with redsn0w. I don't care much for unlocking my iPhone but thnx for the tip.
