So after having iPad Pro 11 battery issues I took the Apple Pencil off and turn Bluetooth off when not using and the battery is now insane!

I’m getting an average 16 hours on screen time between charges! I use the iPad to stream tv and movies so I’m over the moon with it now.
Just something to watch for those that keep an Apple Pencil attached to the iPad as I’m sure that was my issue

I always keep my Apple Pencil detached when its fully charged to prevent unnecessary battery drain.

Another iPad Pro 11' user who keeps their pencil detached when charged. The Apple Pencil will drain battery when moved (in a backpack) - leaving it on a desk keeps it charged and not needing "charging" - this helps a lot with my iPad battery life which is the best of any iPad I've used / owned yet. I only charge a few times a week and not because I have to.

Mine was never in a backpack only ever at home on a steady surface.
In comparison previously I only could reach a maximum of 4 hours on screen time. It was so bad Apple sent me a replacement. The new one was the same until I take the pencil off.

Either I have a faulty pen or the iPad does not suit having it attached constantly which they shouldn’t say effects the battery very little

Well this is good to know as I am testing both the 11 inch pro and the 12.9 inch pro and I was having to charge the iPad up at least twice a day so I was beginning to wonder if there was an issue with the latest IOS update so today I will test both iPads without the pencil attached and also turn the Bluetooth off.

Yesterday I was working split screen with Apple’s native apps (Pages, Notes) And it’s drained %95 to %72 in just 1 hour 25 minutes. No pencil attached. Just smart keyboard and two apps. It is worse worse then my 2018 15”mbp. I hope it is a software issue.

I’m not sure if it’s a Bluetooth or the pencil as it only corrected with the Apple Pencil removed and Bluetooth switched off

Today I'll try using with the bluetooth off. And I'll update post. Thanks!

How has it been so far? May need a day or two for battery to stabilise to see the difference if your issue was the same as mine

Any update? Interested to see if it is same fix as mine

Yes this fixed my issue with the battery life I don't have to charge it up during the day anymore. I am disappointed that the pencil was the issue as I really liked having it handy to use hoping they will release a software fix for this.

Unfortunately not many people are noticing so not enough complaints have been made for Apple to look into a fix.
Hopefully others with the issue notice and raise the issue also

Weird, I have 2 apple pencils and I can leave them both on the iPad and notice no additional battery drain after a week with either. :/

How’s battery performing with them connected? And are your iPads the new 2020 pro?
