I would first like to thank the community for all the work they have done on jailbreaking and making this phone go way beyond with apple intended.

I have a Iphone 3Gs about 1 week old.(hacked it first day)
Have not dropped the phone once, I am having GPS issues. I have looked online for everything people are saying,(switch off 3g and wifi and wait.)Still wont locate me down to a dot, and wont fallow my position. Just after jailbreaking my iPhone GPS worked, and Tom Tom app worked as well. But now after adding a bunch of apps and messing with some things. GPS does not work. It will locate me based off the Cell towers, and Wifi but not GPS. Some apps such as tom tom and ASmartHud don’t work with any GPS. Everything else works fine on the phone.

Now for my questions.

How do I reset EVERYTHING back the way it was from the factory? Fresh phone, So I can jailbreak it and put all my apps back on there and reconfigure the whole thing. In hopes it will bring my gps back.

How many of you think that will fix it. I have tried everything else except that?

I have tried ITunes restore but its going to force me to update to 3.1 (trust me not going to do that).Just want to keep 3.01. When I restore in itunes doing the option + restore (mac) it gives me the error that apple is not signing those updates for the 3gs anymore. So if I can force it to delete everything off my phone and restore the 3.01 firmware I can do the rest.

Just to let you all know I have resolved my GPS issue after doing Saurik fix with the apple verification issue. Everything is working. GPS and jailbroken. all i did was restore to 3.01.

Hello,

Could you please explain what you did? I am having problems with my GPS and have tried diferents things, but it keeps freezing not being able to find my location. If I restore, would I have to install all my apps again and what happens with the cydia apps?
