The Apple instructions for installing memory show different slots (bottom left vs bottom right) for the memory chips installed in the iMac 13,2, late 2012 and the iMac15,1 late 2014. However, Mactracker says they both use the same RAM. I have a iMac13,2 with 24GB (2 4GB chips & 2 8GB chips) and a 2014 iMac15,1 with 8 GB (2 4GB chips).
Edited! These two machines do use the same chips. They can be swapped between these computers. The Apple article should say that they are just turned around left to right, so the slot is on a different side. Rather misleading, and I have not checked the other chips mentioned in that article, only the chips for the late 20112 (iMac13,2) and late 2014 (iMac15,1) models
