I have an AW3 GPS. A coworker let me buy a new in box Scosche Rhythm+ for half price that he never used. Due to my high perspiration and tons arm hair - AW, especially in the cold, recently, has a hard time registering my heart rate while I run. So the Scosche Rhythm+ has been awesome.

Am I doing this right though? Every time I turn on my Scosche Rhythm+ it blinks as if it needs to be paired, so I have to go to my AW3, go to settings --> Bluetooth and then I see the Rhythm+ not paired - I click on it and boom, ready to go. The only thing is - I have to do this before every run, every single time.

There has to be a way to pair it permanently to the watch?

Should I pair it to the phone?

Thanks for any advice!

Ok how interesting - I will look into it more. This is the only bluetooth device I have on the watch. I may be doing it wrong - I turn on the Scosche, then go to the watch and go to Bluetooth, then I have to wait till it sees it then click on it. I'll try it a few different ways (maybe I'm being too impatient and should just let it "pair").

Thanks!

[doublepost=1514398352][/doublepost]Ok I did a few tests. I let the watch sit at the watch face, started up Scosche Rhythm+ and nothing - Scosche just spun red/blue to pair.

However, the moment I opened the heart rate app, the watch's green lights turned on for a quarter second then BAM it paired with the Scosche.

Yep - tested this again, wow this is so much easier than going into settings and pairing every time!

Thank you!

Yeah, I can't recommend this band enough. When I got my AW3 a month ago it was still warm enough outside I didn't have any problems. Soon as it got cold, my AW had problems registering my heart rate "not enough data" -- so I mentioned this to a coworker who sold a new in box (sealed) Scosche Rhythm+.

This thing is amazing - absolutely love it. It has per second heart rate accuracy - if you check the all data points on the health app you see it is posting a TON of data. So it does use a little more battery than the watch itself but worth it in my opinion - especially during cold weather.

It never has a problem reading my heart rate - the watch uses the Rhythm+ as if it was part of the watch.

Unlike a few of the Amazon comments - I've never had a problem with the band slipping down. May be my super hairy arms but ... it's worked very well for me.

I use the Scosche. I also find it not paired in settings every time. I just tap it and it connects and stays connected. Use it for all my runs. S2 and S3 watches.

Ah ok - so it looks like that's normal then. I'm so happy I found that I can just open the heart monitor app and BAM it pairs within half a second - vs going to bluetooth EVERY time and waiting 5-10 seconds then pairing. This has been a huge game changer for me. I know 1st world problems but having to stand for 10+ seconds to pair every exercise was nuts. Now it's an instant thing I can do while walking out the door to run.

Also, I found that I was wearing it wrong - had it on the TOP of my forearm - lol - so I saw in the manual (actually read it yesterday) - I should have it on the inside of my forearm. This made the heart beat chart a lot more regular and eliminated some irregular high beats that I had from the top of my forearm. Live and learn. :p

But yeah I REALLY like this thing. Without it, I'll get "Not Enough Data" from my AW cuz here in the high desert, we're seeing below freezing temperatures.

Don't know if this is what you're talking about, but I've used the Rhythm+ for a couple years now. When it's blinking red/blue, it's actually seeking, and locking on to your heart rate; it has nothing to do with pairing. Perhaps that is why it's not immediately pairing/connecting on your watch, is because it's busy seeking your heart rate, and won't connect until it has a good lock. When it has connected to your heart rate well, it is then that the blinking light turns blue.
