Restart into OS

Yeah... is there a plug-in or something that I can use so that in the apple menu there's an option to restart into Windows XP? It's a bit inconvenient to either go to system preferences and change my start up disk or hold down the option key on start up.

And how about something like this on the Windows side too? (Although with my default start up disk set to Mac OS X, simply turning my computer off and back on isn't that bad.)

Oh, and I don't think I mentioned it yet... I'm using Boot Camp to run Windows. Fusion/Parralells/CrossOver have all been tried and none of them ran the windows only games very well. I'm just going to stick to Boot Camp.

IN the pC - if you right click on the bootcmap icon in teh system tray, you can click on "Start in OSX" - no need to bring up the full control panel.

YES on the MAC side this is very annoying - i wil try the above link as well.

bootchamp only works with NTFS partitions. Which is great unless your dumb like me and install FAT32 - yes its almost time to re-install XP...

I think I have a fat32 partition too... but we'll see what it does...

BootPicker gets my vote - it allows you to choose the OS on startup, not in the Apple menu as you ask, though.

that's almost as bad as having to hold down the option key at start up.

Anyways, BootChamp successfully restart my computer into XP.

I just launched it, typed in the admin password, went to the bathroom for maybe 2 minutes, and when I came back it had already reset into Windows without any further guidance.

Pretty good if you ask me.

Oh, and since it doesn't change my start up drive, a simple restart from XP will put me back in Mac OS X... so yeah, it really does everything I want.

Although I'd rather if it worked without requiring me to type my password...

And on another topic... what are the keyboard short cuts for copy and paste in windows? Or quit? And why doesn't hitting the down arrow skip to the end of the line if it's the last line? Say... that's what the end key does. Interesting. How do you skip to the end of a document then?

Sorry, Windows is just so very complicated. Is this what it's like for a Windows user changing over to Mac OS X?

Is there by chance like... a plug in for XP so that it'll act and look more like Mac OS X? (IE, it uses the Mac OS X keyboard commands to do the Windows equivelents?)
