Restore (as new) OR Update iPad to 3.2.1?

Anyone know if restoring to 3.2.1 would prove more beneficial than just updating/upgrading to it?

I know restoring as new helps in some situations, to avoid old backup bugs, etc. But was curious if anyone has experienced variation or improvement with restoring as new with 3.2.1 (and then maybe restoring from backup).
