1. I'm upgrading iMacs to the June 2017 version from mid 2011. What is the best way to transfer files and settings other than a re-install? Is there a difference between using the migrate assistant vs. restoring from a backup? How long should I expect it to take? I have 1.2TB, using a hard-wired FIOS connection - if it makes a difference, I have a 50/20 download/upload speed. Apple support told me 30 minutes. That sounds absurd.
2. Also on order was placed for a DAS HD array. Any advice on which 3.5" Sata 6TB HD to buy? The external array will be used for media storage and backup.
