Restore color icons in Finder sidebar?

Hi all,

Has anyone found a way to restore the color & custom icons to the Finder sidebar?

I'm on 10.15.2.

I have an app that did that pre-Catalina, but now only the Desktop icon is in color. When I do Get Info on sidebar items, the correct color and custom icons are there. But they're all displayed as the generic gray versions in the sidebar.

I'm open to whatever works -- just hoping to get the color icons and my custom folder icons back.

Try Xtrafinder.

Yes, I really miss the colourful icons too. very annoying.

They brought the colored icons back in the new Music, Podcasts, and TV apps. Maybe this is a harbinger of a more colorful Finder sidebar.

I sure hope you're right. it makes it much faster to locate things.
