Restore: Dont wanna spend 3 hours installing all of my cydia apps!!

Ok so my iPhone won't vibrate anymore. I figured I would try a restore before going to an Apple store. However Im gonna re-jailbreak of course. How do I backup the Cydia apps I have installed for an easy re-install after I restore/re-jailbreak? I dont wanna search for them all over again in Cydia. I've heard of Aptbackup (or something like that) but it didnt work last time I tried it. Maybe I was doing it wrong. Thanks for the help guys.

It restored about half my stuff. I think I might have accidently canceled it.

Aptbackup works great, but you'll have no indication of its progress.
After I clicked restore, the iPhone was unresponsive during the process.
You just have to let it sit and do its thing. I think it takes 15 - 20 minutes
depending on how much stuff you had installed. I got everything back, including themes.

How did you do it? I hit "backup" but it never did it...or I dont know how to do it. What did you do?

depending on how much stuff you had installed. I got everything back, including themes.

Ah. After 5 minutes I thought something went wrong, so I force reset. Probably why I didn't get all my stuff back.

So you hit backup which takes a couple sec...then you restored a fresh copy...then you re-jailbroke that FW....then you went to cydia and installed aptbackup....then hit restore?? Thanks for your help!

That's exactly what happened to me the first time - the screen went black and was unresponsive, so I did a force-reset. The next
time I just waited it out, and when I pressed the home button, my winterboard lock-screen and everything else was installed.

After you hit Backup, you have to sync your iPhone with itunes, as this is where the backup is stored. Then when you Restore From Backip in itunes, the backup will transfer to your iPhone. At this point you can re-install Aptbackup and hit Restore...

I don't want to use aptbackup becasue there are some things that I don't want to restore.

I just found that Cydia now has a queue that you can use. It saves a TON of time.

When you go to install an app, instead of confirming right before the install, you can hit cancel, and it will enter it into a queue. That way you can queue all of the apps you want to install, and not have to respring 50 times.

So basically, once you have a fresh JB iPhone, you just open cydia and can install all your apps in one hit?

No, Im pretty sure that it doesnt work that way. Once you re-install cydia the que goes away. As a matter of fact, cydia has to update itself before the "que" feature is even added. So in my specific case that wouldn't work....but thanks for the tip!! Its a cool feature.

4. Restore with the 3.0 jailbroken firmware...?

6. Go to Cydia, install aptbackup again and click restore..?

But if you must know... Download AptBackup. Make sure all icons are un-Poofed and out of any categories. Open AptBackup and tap Backup. Sync with iTunes. Restore the phone to Apple firmware. Jailbreak. Install AptBackup again. Restore previous iPhone data. Open AptBackup, and tap Restore. The phone should go unresponsive for 10-15 minutes (depending on how much stuff you got from Cydia). Don't try to reboot the phone. Let it do it's thing. Now you should have everything you had installed before back on your iPhone.
