can anyone confirm for me whether resotring from a backup (as opposed to setting up as a new phone) after owning the new 2.0.1 firmware? I have a pwnd 2.0 phone now.
Also, after restoring do all cydia/Ssh installed apps still work? Do winterboard themes stay in tact??

Thanks a bunch

Restoring from backup will bring back your mail setup, SMS messages, lock screen wallpaper, and some other settings. It will NOT restore your Winterboard themes, Customize settings (such as custom strings, etc) or any apps installed via Cydia. Got to go in and set all that back up manually.

If anyone knows of a way to save all of these for backup restores, please let me know.

So... I thought of something. In theory this seems like it would work. I have yet to try.

So since all these Jailbroken apps work by folders being placed in the root system, you could write an Automator action or just an AppleScript combined with some shell scripts to ssh to the phone, locate all folders that are "not supposed to be there" and then copy that information to a backup location on your Mac. Then you can make a restore script that coppies it back and resets the correct permissions.

If this works, I don't know why we haven't seen anything like it yet. I'll probably give it a go at least when I get a chance before I upgrade.

awesome! If you do that And it works could you upload the scripts and/or write up a quick how-to? That would be awesome.

Thanks
