Restore from backup when changing jobs & phones?

Does anyone have experience with restoring from a backup that is tied to a work profile? I may be needing to get a new phone with a potential job change and was wondering how this will impact the process.

On my current work phone 6s, I have a work profile that manages about 10 work apps, vpn, etc. I also use this phone as my personal phone, so there are the usual things like photos, music, general apps, etc.

When I get a new phone at the new job and restore from backup but the work profile is no longer valid, can I simply run the backup and it won't get loaded on the new phone? Or will it get loaded and I can simply delete it? Or will it mess everything up and I am better off just re-downloading all the apps again?

Yes, same Apple ID, even porting my number. I just have to turn in the device so I have to get a new phone no matter what.

Always make backup, no matter what but you can delete all profiles, VPN settings before backup and than restore from backup.

If you don't need some data form your iPhone (messages, Viber, Whatsapp or any other app), just set up as new and re-download needed apps.

Just to remember, if you make iTunes backup, make sure that it is encrypted so it will save all the data (or just make and iCloud backup which is always encrypted and saves all data).

I had a similar situation some months ago. I had a work profile installed. I just deleted it and then restored my new phone from my iCloud backup. No issues at all.

I bought my new phone while on an extended trip. No choice for me.
