backround: bought the 16gb yesterday. Did Ziphone 2.1. Did some SSH'ing for themes, got my themes to work. Today I changed theme to 'default' and got the spinning wheel. Now I can shut down and when I start up i get the Apple and the constantly spinning wheel.

Do I restore in itunes? With the SIM that came with the phone? Or new SIM?
Or do I re-ziphone?

Thanks.

That spinning wheel probably won't stop. I had that happen yesterday to. I gave up on waiting and simply retsored and ran Ziphone all over again. Just keep your sim in the iPhone during the restore, no need to remove it. After the restore, just run Ziphone again but be careful what you add to the phone. Try to remember what you installed just before the phone showed the spinning wheel. Not everything works with 1.1.3 yet.

Thanks. Worked like a champ. Now if I could only get summerboard to not send me for that spin again. I havent found in the forums the perfect solution. I can SSH my themes in fine, but switching back to 'default' blew me up.

BSD subsystem 2.1 spinning wheel

Thanks. Worked like a champ. Now if I could only get summerboard to not send me for that spin again. I havent found in the forums the perfect solution. I can SSH my themes in fine, but switching back to 'default' blew me up.

Today I did the same, I update the BSD subsystem, and get the spinning wheel. I heard something about the bsd subsystem sources in the installer came from an official application, I dont know if it aint compatible ot apple is doing something to brick the phones again.

Any news please let me know.

yea...for some reason all of a sudden i am having to restore, re-ziphone and try the installs over and over....keep getting the spinning wheel. Not sure what is causing this all of a sudden. is the BSD subsystem required? needed? I guess I am not sure what it all does?

Everytime i do this, i have no service (like the phone is not activated) yet the phone "acts" activated....

i also get the spinning wheel after a restart and have to reformat the phone and blah blah. I give up. Will wait for a new release and/or SDK

AHHH...I found my problem...I was deleting the 'Z' ZiPhone link icon at random times...making me think that I was having all different application problems. This time i clicked on the 'Z' and low and behold version 2.2 is out to fix this exact problem! GRRR
