restore to previous firmware

i updated to 2.1 and since then have basically no phone service not even edge. i usually have 5 bars at my house since i live about 1-2 miles from the tower. is there a way to restore to 2.0.2??

iirc, it should be a matter of restoring with the 2.0.2 file with itunes. you may need the itunes 7.7 if you updated yours to 8. hopefully some experts or someone who has downgraded 2.1 -> 2.0.2 can chime in.

but basically, put your phone in dfu mode(search youtube or here) while plugging in and with itunes running, click the restore button on itunes while holding down the shift key and browse to the appropriate restore file below.

Downgrading to previous FW is not always an option. Basically, if modem software was updated you would not be able to go back to previous version. Old 2G phones are different (possible to downgrade), some folks assume 3G is the same, but it is not.

Give it a full restore in DFU mode and you should be fine. (search forum for DFU)

I have Zero issues with 2.1, why should you? I upgraded last Friday night. Battery is still at 85%. 3G speed test was a bit faster.

well after a few calls and talking to a slew of people at att, it was finally confirmed that there is a problem with the tower closest to me, they assured me that once the problem was resolved today that i should have good signal.

i will know when i get home, i can only hope!!!!!
