I invested in the Best BUy replacement plan and exchanged my abused and dying iPhone for a shiny new 8GB 3G ... but when I went to restore my backup I experienced problems.

First, the iPhone would not restore b/c it did not have OS 3.0 installed. I told me to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone, install the 3.0 upgrade, then restore. I did as instructed, but when I restored the backup, none of the 100+ apps that I have installed returned to the device. My contacts, music and podcasts all synced ... but not the apps.

They don't really expect me to go through my download history and re-download each of these apps do they? That process is very tedious. I have to be in the history in iTunes, then go search for the app and download it. This would take hours. Why would they even have a backup feature if they don't backup the apps? That's the hardest part to restore, and second most important next to contacts.

Anyone have any advice?

When your iPhone is synced and plugged into your notebook and iTunes is open, head over to your iPhone in the left-side menu bar. Then, click the "Applications" tab and select which applications you want the device to sync with or select "All Applications".

Thanks for posting, but I tried that! On that tab there are only a handful of apps (including about ten that I never ever downloaded [strange, right??]). I had over 100 apps downloaded and can't ****ing figured out how to get all my apps back!

PLEASE HELP!!!

If they're on your iPhone just click on iPhone in iTunes and choose transfer purchases.

No. Please read the first post before posting. I replaced my original iPhone b/c it had a few dead pixels and got a new one.
