Hi there. I am looking for anyone who has done this. I had my ipad sync'd to my old dell laptop, I recently formatted it and gave it back to my company. I now want to connect the ipad to my family computer where i am creating a new library.

However when I first connected my ipad to itunes, of course it wants to wipe all the apps, music etc from the ipad. So I backed up to icloud thinking that once I enable app sync-ing, the ipad will loose all the apps then I need to restore from icloud.

My question is this. I have many games and of course many points, awards etc in these games, are these awards backed up as part of the apps? So when I restore the app, will my diamond dash or poker stats / game centre stats be restored as well.

I asked the same question in an Apple store and they thought most likely all my scores would be lost. Meaning I have to start again, but they said, 'well thats the fun of playing the games' Really?

Anyway, if anyone has setup their existing ipad / iphone(i guess) to say a new computer, enabled syning of the apps, then somehow restore from icloud, please can you confirm if the restored apps also have the 'saved game data'.

Many thanks.
Colin.

Achievements have always saved in game center profile.

Some other stats save to Game Center for comparing to friends, but often the game wont be aware of it if theapp is loaded fresh. So stat will be in game center but not game.

Some games save to iCloud these day, but its rare.

Thanks Menel. I decided in the end that my apps were the more important thing to protect. Therefore I wont resync the apps via itunes.

I will now simply setup the sync for my books, music, films. Just got to work out how to get my Heroes and other TV style films to show up as a TV episode. Time to hit the search feature again.

Thanks again for the quick responce.
Colin.

I did this last week when I jailbroke my iPhone. I can confirm that if you have iCloud Backup enabled on the phone, when you restore using the cloud, not the computer, that all data is restored as well. It doesn't matter if the game supports the cloud or not. Those that don't will be stored as part of the nightly backup to iCloud instead of the instant sync method.
