I upgraded my Iphone 4 to IOS yesterday and have performed backups via iCloud. When I get my Iphone 4s tomorrow, will I be able to restore from one of those backups being it's new hardware? I can't seem to find a straight answer on Apple's web site.

I'm wondering the same thing. I spent a whole lot of time upgrading my phone yesterday and am hoping I can just turn on the 4s and have it sync/backup via iCloud. If I find an answer I'll post it here.

Guess we will know soon enough. I will not be in a good mood if I have to redo the entire phone again after doing it yesterday!

That's how it's always been before, hopefully it's just the same.. you'll obviously need to hook up to iTunes to get your music on though..

All,

Great news. The restore feature worked PERFECT. It even restores your apps to be re-downloaded and your music that you purchased through Itunes. You still need to sync with your libarary to get back all your music, but other than that, it was completely seamless. Very impressed with this as well as Siri :)

Just an update and it might be coincidental...my Imessage didn't seem to be working after my restore. I would send messages and they would say "Delivered" but the receipient never got them. Since I just swapped sim cards from my Iphone 4, I thought that had something to do with it. I recall a similar issue with Facetime and Iphone 4 when I switched phones, so I reset network settings and rebooted. It did start working a little while after that, but I am unsure if Apple's systems are just overwhelmed today and are having iMessage issues or it was a problem with my phone in particular.
