Restoring from time machine

Hi all.
I’m attempting to restore my 2010 MacBook Pro running OS10.15, after installing an SSD hard drive.
I’ve plugged in my backup hard drive with time machine back ups on but the restore process has stalled at the Apple logo. Any suggestions?

You need to provide some more specifics. How did you boot the MBP after installing drive? Are you using Migration Assistant to restore from the TM drive?

maybe the hdd/ssd has died (internal)
