Restoring new home iMac from work iMac backup

Hello all. I'm buying a new iMac to work from home. Can I set it up (restore) from work iMac backup? The goal is to get all current data, accounts, and software copied over for home iMac on the fly. Thank you all.

It won't sync automatically, you'd have to shuttle your backup backwards and forwards between the 2 if you want to keep them up to date. You can of course move all your files etc to the cloud and access them from both in real time but not apps etc.

You can use Apple's Migration Assistant and that should do what you want. It won't be on the fly but it will copy everything over.
