Seeing how there is no consumer data on your question, there is no way to answer the question. In addition, I have never read on this forum (in 12 years) of someone wanting to put new coating on a screen protector.Does anyone know, on average, how long the oleophobic coatings are supposed to last on a screen protector? And also, how many of you all restore the oleophobic coating, using a spray for example, on their screen protectors?
If consumer data was available, through a large enough sample size, then I wouldn’t have asked the question. And just because you haven’t been doing enough reading, that doesn’t mean that other people don’t have any idea about the topic either. In fact, someone has already posted…Seeing how there is no consumer data on your question, there is no way to answer the question. Ok noted. I have never replaced the screen protector historically on my devices unless they crack or a severely scratched. Once a protector is installed, and aligned perfectly without any bubbles or dust underneath, I leave it at that. It’s not a financial constraint / issue for me, just to be clear. The coating usually lasts a couple months for me, but my screen gets dirty/dusty a lot and I'm not careful about wiping it. I use whatever is handy at the moment - a t-shirt, dish towel, napkin, shop rag, golf towel, etc.
As flippant as the first reply may have sounded to you, I do put a new screen protector on every few months or so just for the new feel and to have the oleophobic coating again.
I used to be that way, but the Spigen EZ Fit are so quick and easy to install that I don't mind slapping a new one on every once in a while. A fresh one feels so slick and smooth after you've been using an old one for a while!Ok noted. I've bought a spray, only for a few dollars, so I'm going to test it out.I didn’t know replacing oleophobic coatings were a thing, I only swap out my screen protector when it cracks under pressure - literally, from a drop. Anyway, I've got two spares left from that $6 Amazon three-pack.
Two months to 2 years, if it is a quality film.Depends on thickness - from 0.5 micron to 0.25 micron. If applied in laboratory conditions, it will last from 5 years, provided that it is not rubbed with alcohol wipes. That's if you make it in a lab.Does anyone know, on average, how long the oleophobic coatings are supposed to last on a screen protector? How to restore the smooth surface on an iPad without a glass protection? 😅
There are other equivalents out there, just need to find out who sells them. The one I ordered is coming from Japan, but it's still cheap overall. This product doesn't exist in Europe
Three posts above yours...I remember years ago that one could by some liquid and restore it. Sorry I don’t have the information at hand.
Awesome. I’d like to try it out on a tempered glass screen protector.Three posts above yours...
I'm going to do this on an old business phone, which has a screen protector on, as a test.Awesome. I’d like to try it out on a tempered glass screen protector.
I just replace my screen protectors every once in a while for a fresh coating. The Glas.TR protectors are inexpensive and so easy to apply that it's well worth it.Awesome. I’d like to try it out on a tempered glass screen protector.
