Hello. I'm using 10.4 on my PB. I'm looking to install OS 9 as well. After a few lame tries of attempting to boot off of a Mac OS 9, and 9.1 CD I had no luck. So I checked online and it appears my TiBook supports neither, it is only compatible with 9.2.2. Good news is I found my original restore DVD containing 9.2.2. Bad news is the Restore software isn't working. It's asking me to put in the Restore DVD, but the restore DVD is in, how could I have opened the program in the first place? So I eject the disk, and put it back in, nothing happens. It continues to ask me to insert the DVD. I have no idea why it won't update other then maybe the Restore software doesn't play well with Tiger. Anyone have any ideas?

It wouldn't be a restore dvd it would be a restore CD. It's asking you for the cd labeled POWERBOOK G4 software restore that should indicate what OS9 version it is, NOT the OS9 disc that I recall came with my Tibook back in the day. Confusing but i just did this on a friend's Tibook. I don't know but somehow don't think it is compatible with Tiger -- I know it is compatible with Panther. If you bought Tiger recently, doesn't that entitle you to a free call to Apple (can't remember) but they should answer your question for you.

I only remember a DVD. I'll figure something out.

Thanks.
