hey everyone first post here.. just have a question about the jailbreak sorry if it's been answered somewhere else. so i have the iphone 4 version 4.2.6. i jailbroke with greenpoison. now i haven't done the ios 5 or ios 6 updates because i heard they'd wipe everything if i did.
i'm planning on getting the iphone 5 in a few weeks so i have a few questions..
if i didn't update to ios 5 and got the iphone 5 would i have problems connecting the 5 to my itunes and getting all the music i had downloaded already?

is it possible for me to just back up my phone then restore it to original settings, then get all my songs and info back and update to ios 6?

my main concern is losing all my music so if anyone can help me out with these questions i'd appreciate it! thanks

thanks so i really should have no problem if i restore it then update to ios 6 before iphone 5?

dhlizard i know i'm probably being a pain in your ass with these questions but i saw somewhere else you said you need to have the newest itunes..so when i plug my phone in it always tells me to update but i always assumed it was for the ios 5 or 6 but really it's for the itunes? and to restore the phone i should update my itunes first, back it up, then restore it and hook it back up as my phone right? then how do i go about getting the new ios? sorry don't really know what i'm doing with all this

You are confusing iTunes with firmware on the phone.
iTunes - 10.7 on your computer
Firmware - your question was about re-installing content after you upgrade to iOS6
