Hi all,

I have this posted in the Lion forum but am not getting any response, anyone here have an opinion?

I'm new to Mac and OSX and I'm about to swap out my OS drive with a larger faster one. I was simply going to do a network install of Lion on the blank drive, boot it and then restore a full backup from my time machine backups on an external drive.
My question is, will it restore open system files on the booted OS? Any other tips or suggestions?

Thanks!

Answered my own question

Figured it out. I was doing the internet restore because I wanted the recovery partition created on the new drive. So, I simply boot into the recovery and do the time machine restore from there.

cheers!
