I recently wanted to update to iOS 9 and get rid of my jailbreak. I backed up my iPod and restored it. When I got to the point where I needed to restore from backup,it would go through the process and once it hit the point to turn on...it would freeze at the apple logo.
I started thinking...this could be my own fault for trying to restore a jailbroken backup...yet I thought how do the other people succeed in keeping their stuff when they update and get the new jailbreak?
I finally quit and restored my iPod as a new one. Although,I thought I'd just ask,do you have any idea how I can get my backup without it freezing on me again?or am I doomed without my data?is there anyway to access the files of my backup and put them into iTunes??
Thanks!

DFU Mode. Upgrade and restore in iTunes, which will take you to 9.0.2 (currently). Restore from backup.

9.0 is extremely buggy. That probably had a lot to do with your issue.

I forgot to note that I am on iOS 9.0.2
If you think DFU mode is still a good idea...how do I do it when my home button is broken?
