We are in a pickle.

I bought an iphone 3gs off craigslist that was jailbroken and unlocked. It has a Rogers SIM card, but the original provider was Bell.

The operating system was so old that we couldn't use itunes or download many apps. Bell told us that if we got a Bell SIM, we could restore and update the phone.

Not true. It is now stuck. It won't connect to the wireless internet anymore. And it doesn't recognize the Bell SIM card.

Not sure where to go from here.

Could this be a faulty SIM card? We could swap it out and see.

Or, now that its started an update, can I just reset it to where it was when I got it?

Mystified.

restoring / updating iphone 3gs

Does it have the ipad Baseband 06.15.0 on it?

You can find it in settings/general/info

At the bottom it says modemversion, that is your baseband

If the phone was build before week 26 of 2011 you have some options, need first 5 digits of the serial for that
