Hello,
I am transcoding an mkv (blu-ray rip) to prores to edit in FCP and export it out for the ATV.
I have been creating quicktime reference files in QT7pro, opening them in compressor and selecting prores 422 hq.
When opening the reference file in QT, the audio shows as DTS 7 channel Perenian, assuming the perenian plugin is translating the mkv's DTS audio (I beleive AC3 or lossless).
With compressor and prores chosen, it does pass through of the pernian dts 7 channel, so when I go to edit it in FCP, none of the audio is playable without rendering.
Additionally, in FCP, the prores files show 7 mono channels, but only 2 have actual audio in them. I assume this could also be perenian's fault since it may be caching the audio in QT at 2 channels, not 7.
In compressor prores settings, I tried choosing Apple lossless 6.1 and 7.1 for the audio, but that creates a prores file with audio not in sync.
Anyone know of a way I can retain the DTS from the MKV to ProRes?
Thank you!
