Not sure if it just me, but i made a Smart Playlist with all the songs of two artists which amounts to 40.56GB, i plug in my iPod Shuffle (2GB) and it says over capacity by 19.9GB which is fair enough (it's not 38.67 because i checked the convert to 128kbps AAC) so i checked, assuming this would fix it, 'Automatically fill free space with songs' because for some reason iTunes no longer gives me the option to fill iPod with a random song selection (like it used to) and nothing works, it doesn't attempt to sync any song from the playlist at all, can anyone help lol?

Quick question... what is the capacity of your iPod?

Lets see...

Sync your iPod to iTunes.
Click on the ipod icon in itunes
click on Summary
check that sync only check songs and video is checked
check that convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps is checked

click on music
check that sync music is checked
check that selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres is checked
check automatically fill free space with songs (if you want to)
now in playlists find your playlist and select it.

at the bottom of the page what does the capacity read? How much free space do you have?

If you got this far you should be able to sync. If not check that you only have 1 playlist selected and unselect fill free space with songs. You need to unselect stuff until you see some free space on your iPod.
