I've kept it in good shape. Still works…but stuck on Monterey, and the camera weirdly stopped working a few months ago (ugh), and charging is super wonky even though I got a new Apple battery 6 months ago. It has a 1TB SSD and 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3.

I'd try an SMC reset for the charging - I had to do that on my 2019 a few months ago when it got dumb, been fine since.

Should be able to resell it even being stuck on Monterey, especially with those specs.

Be aware that the butterfly keyboard will impact the selling price.

Does anyone "in the family" need it?

Having said that, if the new Mac is "your only Mac", might be worth keeping the old one around as a "standby"...

I recently replaced a Mid’15 MBP that has a slightly bulging battery and contemplated spending the $300 on a new battery. Instead, I gave it to a friend who didn’t have a computer.

They actually replaced the keyboard for free when I got my battery replacement. My main hesitation is re the broken camera. Not sure it's worth fixing, or worth having if it's broken. 🤔
