iPod Retrieving Contacts details from an iPod

I formated my iMac about a month ago and didn't back up my contacts [/head bang wall icon] but I still have the addresses on my iPod.

Is there a way that I can get the details back on my Mac without looking through each one and typing it all back in?

If it's the first sync that you're about to do with the device, iSync (iTunes if on 4.8) should ask whether you want to sync from Mac to iPod, merge the information or go from iPod to Mac. So long as you don't say from Mac to iPod, you should get your contacts back.
