I just bought my first MacBook and I used iPodRip (really awesome!) to transfer my music. Unfortunately it doesn't transfer contacts so my question is: is there a way of transferring them?

What kind of iPod? iPod touch should add them to Address Book (if you check the box in iPod's Info tab) but unsure about other models- check their Info syncing panes, just make sure NOT to check 'Replace' at the bottom of that pane, otherwise the contacts will be erased. I'm assuming you don't have the computer that added the contacts, right? Because then you could just use it and export the contacts from it. (Address Book: File: Back Up Address Book).
Various Google tip(s):
The iPod stores contacts as vCards, which is a format Address Book understands. You should be able to just drag the files in YouriPod/Contacts/ onto Address Book and they should import. (Applies to any iPod that mounts in Finder, so NOT touch.)
