My hard drive got corrupted and my last backup was 6 months ago so I need to recover the past 6 months of photos and videos from my iPhone/iPad onto my Mac.

I tried iMazing (trial mode) but it keeps telling me the selected photos/videos are stored in iCloud, which is patently false as I've never enabled it due to the sheer size of my library (~300GB).

Does anyone have steps or third-party utilities they recommend to retrieve photos and videos?

The big question:

Are these photographs in your camera roll on your device, or were they offloaded to your mac then synced back via itunes?

Offloaded then sync'd for most; some videos were taken from GoPro, bedazzled, then added to Photos app on Mac, which subsequently sync'd to iOS devices.

Yea, if camera roll, I could have re-imported it, but that would double the memory usage having both (camera roll plus Photos app).

Since I lost a few GoPro raw videos, I only have the finished product now on my iPhone and iPad; gotta get this retrieved.

I could export from iPhone/iPad via Email, but what I've seen is that it processes the images/videos to make them smaller for the export, degrading quality (especially if sent via Messages).
