I foolishly, FOOLISHLY deleted some video files i needed that i thought were backed up, they were in the trash and i deleted them!

Is there a free or trial application out there, that can retrieve these deleted files?

This is really important to me, i need them urgently.

I checked out FileSalvage, took 2 hours to scan my harddrive, then told me that i couldn't retrieve them in the trial version. The full version is $89 that i REALLY don't have! (Student)

Please if anyone can help,

Hi there ..

I hope you have stopped using your machine immediately ... the more you use it the less likely you will recover your files ...

The only good recovery software i know about is ..

Data Rescue 11
http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue_info.php

Make sure you understand completely the correct procedure for doing this..
You might need an external volume to save on and have to run the program from another computer with your machine in target disk mode ... I don't know for sure but check it out ...

Hi there,

Thanks for replying.

I did stop using the computer and i hooked it up to my iMac via firewire.

I thoroughly checked my external, to find that i do have most of the files backed up, about 11GB of a 13GB file.

I think i might be ok, but i just have to re-capture and re-edit the remaining 2GB.

Thanks again.

Rich.
