Here's my three cents on the iPad. I kind of wanted to tell someone so I thought I'd tell all of you fine people.

When I watched the keynote of the unveiling of the iPad I wasn't really impressed. I really didn't see a need for it in my life that I'm not getting from my Macbook Pro and iPhone. When I went to the Apple Store and saw one and played around with it my geeky-impulsive-buy mode kicked in and my fiance allowed (she was suppose to say "No!") me to buy one. So I bought the 16GB wifi version.

After a week or two wait from Apple.com I received it in the mail and to be honest I still wasn't all that "wow'd" about it. I'm not saying it's not a great piece of technology all I'm saying is that it doesn't really fit me. The app's (games mostly) are expensive. The same games I have on my iPhone for $0.99 are $4.99 to $9.99. So after buying the device and then some accessories to protect it then some more to just to fill one page with some decent games you're looking at $700-$800 (depending on the accessories and apps you buy of course) just for a device that you just use "for fun" (again from my point of view). Also it's very awkward to hold. I mean, just laying in bed on your belly holding the device to watch some shows on ABC is fine but throw in trying to eat dinner or move around, forget about it. Though I'm sure I could probably get a stand for it or something but I don't really like those cases. I prefer something that doesn't add bulk. (I had a Incipio Feather pre-ordered). I also find typing really awkward and find that my Macbook Pro works much better laying on your back in bed with your knees up.

So I think I will return it or re-sell it. I think I would much rather wait for the next iPhone.

Sorry if there are tons of these out there. I wanted to share with people that know something about the product.

/end rant

I can emphasize with you. The other day I returned the long awaited Body by Victoria bra. I was simply not wow'ed and I wanted to be. Really, I did.

I found that having the Apple Case helps a lot. It gives you two nice angles for using the iPad, one is more like a stand (good for watching shows or when you want it as a digital picture frame), and one is a smaller angle that's good for typing. It also doesn't add much bulk.

And yeah the Apps are expensive (I've spent over $100 on apps now), but some of them are quite nice and I don't think of them as the same as phone apps anymore (some of them are more like computer apps which are easily more than $0.99). I want to get another iPad (a 3g one) so that I can be using the apps on more than one iPad to feel like I'm getting twice the value for what I pay.

Haha, I knew this was coming.

You didn't have to read it. :)

Sure, but you already pulled me in w/ the title & I thought you might have a point or question but you never did. It was just you rambling to yourself...maybe like you were trying to convince yourself not to keep it or to return it. I couldn't really tell which.

We aren't on a t shirt forum, so its not even a relevant argument. For the price of the iPad one could buy every shirt in the store you returned the shirt to.
