I bought the M3 Macbook Pro and I'm going to return it. I could use some advice on the logistics, though. When I ordered it, I chose Apple Card Monthly Installments and I arranged to trade in my M1. I ended up not sending the M1. Will this complicate my return of the M3? Anyone have experience ordering online with ACMI+trade in, not doing the trade-in and then returning to a retail Apple store?

I had a similar instance like yours. Except it was with a $1300 iPad Pro. I did the same ACMI + mail in trade in. But I chose delivery to home address. What happened was courier delivery was glitched as in it was not coming. So I called Apple and spent over an hour trying to resolve this even asking her about heading over to the actual store but she said don’t. I did anyway and the manager said it’s messed up. So he did a full return of item and then I had to repurchase again via ACMI and I did the trade in via the store route second time. Everything was done right Apple had the best team that knows what they are doing even crediting me a glitched home delivery fee ($9.00) plus all the taxes. In my Apple wallet it shows the payment as completed for the installment plan.

The trade in box (ups) arrived a few days later too.

Edit: I was told by Apple Store u got 14 days to come in and do a trade in in person at the store after u buy the device online too. If u traded the device in and decide on a return they will give u a gift card for that trade in. U can’t get it back after trade in is completed. In your situation just tell them and they will handle it at the store. Apple is so legit when it comes to the financial logistical process of trade in and returns.

Return went perfectly in-store. Trade-in was cancelled and looks like everything was refunded.
