Hello,

I’m wondering what Apple’s return policy is for chargers & cables purchased online? I read through the entire return policy and FAQ but there is no mention of which items could not be returned. It only mentioned that when you log in and initiated an online return it will divide items which can and cannot be returned. However I have not yet made an order.

The reason I ask is because my iPad is not charging properly and I’m unsure if it is the charger/cable or the iPad but due to lock down, being in a remote location and a health condition I can not currently get to a store or borrow someones charger to test.

Do they accept returns for chargers & cables and will my reason for return be acceptable?
I am in Australia if that makes any difference.

Many thanks!

Yes, you can return chargers and cables purchased from Apple. I don't know specifics of Australian consumer laws, but in the US you can.

This isn't so much a matter of "return policy" (returns are, to me, merchandise that is brought to the merchant for refund) as it is of "repair policy." Accessories packaged with the product (cables, chargers, dongles) are covered by the product warranty. Cables, by their nature, may be more likely to be subject to normal wear-and-tear or damage (which is usually excluded from warranty). But an unblemished cable or charger should be assumed to be defective, rather than damaged. Contact Apple Support.

Thanks for the replies and help.

My iPad is old and out of warranty. I’m not wanting to return the charger and cable which was supplied with my iPad or seek any repairs. I am wanting to purchase a new charger and cable online in the hope it will resolve the charging issue. If not I would like to return them and consider my options for buying a new iPad if the charging issue continues to worsen.

If circumstances were different and I could borrow a charger or get to a store I would definitely do that.

Thanks!
