Bought an app for $40 and bummed to figure out I cant return it as it's not up to my expectation.. I guess 'how WOULD i return it?' now that's it's been downloaded.. Tried contacting the software provider saying I was unhappy with it... see where it gets me... any other solutions gang?

and facepalming right now because they had a free trial app ...

tell me your mistaken purchases to make me feel better lol

Contacting the developer is not the best way to get a refund since you paid your $40 to Apple and not to him/her. Contact Apple customer support and explain your situation and that you would like a refund.

Yup - speaking as a developer, we have no way of seeing who has or hasn't bought something from the app store and no way of issuing a refund. As chscag rightly says, your purchase is with Apple, not from the developer.

If you look on the invoice for the app that Apple send you as confirmation of purchase then there should be a link at the bottom of that for requesting a refund.

Yeah. I've called Apple Mac App and book store for refunds.
They were decent about it.
It's helpful to be nice on the phone, and have your reasons clear.
They generally trust you to toss the files you say you don't want.
I expect that would change if you made a thrice a week habit of it.
